These vases are a gorgeous Dark brown almost black color.
The mugs are thrown by me in my studio in Durham, NC.
I first measure out the clay and then throw the cups on a pottery wheel.
The clay is called 266 and comes out of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. Once thrown the vases are allowed to set up and dry a little bit until the perfect consistency.
Mugs are then bisque fired for about 12 hours glazed with a food safe interior cream glaze and then glaze fired to cone 6 for another 8 hours or so.
